Dr. Richard Chan is a native of Kent, Washington. He received his dental degree from the UCLA College of Dentistry in Los Angeles, California. He then went on to complete his orthodontic specialty training at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio (Go Buckeyes!). He specializes in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics for adults, teens and children. He’s a firm believer in technology, which is why he’s trained in a variety of cutting-edge techniques such as Invisalign, ceramic braces, the use of temporary anchorage devices (TADS), soft tissue lasers and self-ligating braces including the Damon system. If something can make treatment speedier, safer and more effective for his patients, you better believe Dr. Chan is on top of it!

Dr. Chan is currently a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Washington State Dental Association and engages in continuing education to keep his skills extra sharp.

Dr. Chan takes a personalized approach to his patients’ care so they have a great orthodontic experience and are able to uncover the smiles they deserve. He enjoys interacting with his patients and their families and being a part of their lives. He knows that a lot of people would love straight teeth but can’t afford it. He’s on a mission to change that by making high-quality treatment work for any budget.

When Dr. Chan isn’t focused on teeth, you can usually find him with his wife and three children. The Chan family lives in Kirkland, Washington where they’re involved with the community and church. They love taking advantage of the beautiful natural scenery by getting outdoors as much as possible and spending time with friends and family.
